Community is one of our Core Values. That means it is at the heart of what we do and who we are. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to give back to the areas where we live and work and use our skills as structural engineers to improve the lives of others.
In 2019, Engineering Solutions contributed a total of $49,941 to nonprofits through cash donations and donated services. This means we exceeded our goal of donating 1% of total income. There were a wide variety of community service projects last year, including the school in Pozo Azul with Building Goodness Foundation and disaster relief with USAID and VA-TF1 in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. Each team member was also offered eight hours of paid time for community service, which contributed toward the $38,100 total in donated time.
We welcome the chance to talk about our Core Values, but we enjoy living them even more. We’re looking forward to continuing to find ways to give back and pay it forward in 2020.
