Food Processing Plant

(Concord, NC)

This project involved a waste water treatment tank that had started leaking due to corrosion in the tank walls. Our scope was to use our ultrasonic thickness gauge to map the tank wall and identify any area that had eroded significantly. Once we had mapped the thickness, we gave them a repair plan to patch the leaks and thin areas, as well as a coating recommendation for the places where the coating was gone. A contractor implemented our repair plan. We made a followup visit to certify the repairs and give them a letter to return the tank into service. We had the equipment we needed, the ability to travel on short notice (within a day of the initial call), as well as the safety certifications to make a confined space entry to look at the tank walls inside the tank.
