Last month James Madison University installed a mass notification system to alert members of the JMU community in case of emergency. Engineering Solutions provided the project management and engineering services required to safely install 4 precast concrete poles around campus. It was important that the poles be buried deep enough that the soil could resist overturning from the wind loads on such tall structures. Viola Engineering provided on-site construction and soil inspection services to confirm the capacity of the soil.
