Sprunt-Crawley House

(Amissville, VA)

An extensive renovation and addition to a mid-century cabin. The renovation to the cabin added monumental stair, a second level, and numerous daring cantilevered roofs and balconies. An adjacent “treehouse” structure was nestled on a cliff among old growth timber. The foundations and steel substructure were designed and detailed to avoid encroachment on existing roof systems and to give the appearance that the structure floated above the stunning landscape overlooking the James River.
